I had a fabulous time, the participants were lovely and engaging. Nicolas explained how to make models comfortable, take location and lighting conditions into consideration and make them work for the image you are trying to make. I took away ideas and what to look for in a good portrait. Especially in hindsight and working through the images I have taken I realize what I could have done better. Thank you Nicolas

Learned a few tricks and got inspired to pursue more photography Nicolas was informative and patient at answering lots of questions and helping students get the most out of their equipment We took the necessary time to dive in to four different photos to ensure the objective, details and technical aspects were understood. I'm more confident as a result and understand my camera capabilities much better now

I like the class and learn more and really put that into practice. What I would suggest, is another spot. I understand that Downtown may be the more convenience spot to meet. But us getting boring. The parliament is under construction, so that really does not give a good sight for capturing images.

Mud Lake, Britannia Conversation Area (Ottawa)May 26 2025, eveningMud Lake is an amazing area of forest and wetlands. It is home to hundreds of species of wildlife, with birds, raccoons, frogs, turtles and foxes, to name but a few. Since I discovered this ecological urban nature landscape, I often visit this area where I am constantly surprised by what I run into! This particular evening, I was presented with a stunning Black Crowned Night Heron perched on a log. It seemed like he was posing

Title: "Spring Light"I took this photo on a spring afternoon, drawn by the contrast between the bright yellow dandelions and the dramatic, cloudy sky. The soft sunlight filtering through the leaves added warmth to an otherwise moody scene. It was a quiet moment that I wanted to preserve.Nikon Z5, 24mm, Enhancing colours ins post processing

The significance of this shot for me was it was my first American Bald Eagle I had captured in the wild - after my wife, Susan, pointed it out to me. I was thrilled and determined to make the best capture I could.Upon closer examination I was awe inspired to see (in detail) the death stare, that razor like tool cutting beak, the unbelievable chest muscles and tremendous talons.
