I had a fabulous time, the participants were lovely and engaging. Nicolas explained how to make models comfortable, take location and lighting conditions into consideration and make them work for the image you are trying to make. I took away ideas and what to look for in a good portrait. Especially in hindsight and working through the images I have taken I realize what I could have done better. Thank you Nicolas

Learned a few tricks and got inspired to pursue more photography Nicolas was informative and patient at answering lots of questions and helping students get the most out of their equipment We took the necessary time to dive in to four different photos to ensure the objective, details and technical aspects were understood. I'm more confident as a result and understand my camera capabilities much better now

I like the class and learn more and really put that into practice. What I would suggest, is another spot. I understand that Downtown may be the more convenience spot to meet. But us getting boring. The parliament is under construction, so that really does not give a good sight for capturing images.

My daughter has started gardening and grew these beautiful flowers. She asked me to photograph them.I waited until the sun was hitting them just right, and got lucky where a filtered ray of light coming through the tree above settled on one of flowers. I recently acquired a heavy bloom filter (in hope to use if for surreal and dreamy type of photography) and figured it would be a nice addition. The filter adds a level of softness that current lenses don't have anymore. The photo was taken wi

I was in awe of nature near the Rideau Canal in Ottawa. I looked up, took great pleasure in the clouds, and said this moment must be captured. There are dark days, yet there are days when the sky is clear and brings joy.

While exploring my backyard by the pond, I came across this stunning common blue damselfly resting on a slender branch. I couldn't resist the opportunity to capture its delicate beauty, so I grabbed my Canon Rebel T7i paired with my 50mm prime lens. The soft light, still water, and vibrant color of the damselfly came together perfectly in this peaceful moment?proof that sometimes the most magical sights are right outside your door.

I enjoy macro photography highlighting parts of everyday object wee usually overlook. In this picture, I noted the opening of the white rose petals to reveal the reds and oranges of the stamens and pistil against a golden glow formed from the light diffusing through the scene, like the opening of a painted paper fan.
